Considered one of the most promising Mexican youngsingers, Ricardo López won the first Price in the XXVI edition of the Carlo Morelli National singing competition in 2008.
He has participated of the Bellas Artes National Opera Company in different productions. His almost entirely Bel Canto repertoire includes: Le nozze di Figaro (Count Almaviva), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro), La cenerentola (Dandini), Lucia di Lammermoor (Enrico), Don Pasquale (Malatesta), I Puritanni (Riccardo), Faust (Valentin), La Traviata (Germont) and Don Carlo (Rodrigo), among others.
He has appeared in very important concert halls of the country with the better national orchestras like: UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra; The Estado de México Symphony Orchestra, Bellas Artes Palace Orchestra and he has performed under important conductors such as Enrique Patrón de Rueda, Kamal Kahn, Marco Balderi, Marco Zambelli, Nikza Bareza, Alun Francis, Moshe Atzmon, Yoav Talmi and Plácido Domingo.
He has participated in productions in South and Central America like Les Pechêur des Perles and Lucia di Lammermoor.
His repertoire also includes symphonic works such as Messiah by Händel, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Fauré’s Réquiem, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, as well as song cycles for voice and piano such as Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Fauré’s Poëme d’un jour, and Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte.
Among his following presentations include: Count Almaviva in Las Bodas de Figaro, Alfio in Cavaleria Rusticana and Faure's Requiem.
